Gal Oya Lodge is a unique Sri Lanka ecolodge spread across 20 acres of private jungle. Take your time enjoying this natural paradise through the experiences we offer, which include a walk with our Vedda neighbours, one of the last remaining communities of the forest-dwelling, indigenous people of Sri Lanka.

We have used sustainable and local materials wherever possible. Nestled in the forest and grasslands, every bespoke living space is specially sited to take advantage of the spectacular views.
Each of our nine spacious bungalows and family villa have been created in harmony with the natural features of the landscape. Our large 800 sq. ft. bungalows and villa include a king sized bed and an alfresco bathroom. A private living area with floor to ceiling windows and a garden veranda completes your secluded space in which to relax and unwind in a truly natural environment.
Accommodation
As we are attempting to bring you closer to nature, our nine bungalows and family villa are designed to make you feel as though you are a part of the landscape during your stay, seamlessly blending into the surrounding terrain.
To really draw nature into the space, we had to reimagine the traditional ideas of interior and exterior found in other luxury boutique hotels in Sri Lanka. All bungalow bedrooms feature spectacular floor to ceiling glass windows and doors that open onto a private veranda.
Every bungalow is nestled in the forest, specifically sited to minimize its impact on the land, and to frame the best possible views. We want you to enjoy a sense of space and comfort. Each bungalow is a generous 800 sq. ft. consisting of a private living room and bedroom with a built-in king sized bed. An adjoining alfresco bathroom completes the experience.
The villa features a large 680 sq. ft. open plan living room that elegantly connects both bedrooms. The relaxing sound of nature is all around you. Each bedroom has its own wraparound veranda with wide views over the canopy to catch both the sunrise and sunset.
To provide for families or those looking for a little more indulgence, we have created a secluded two-bedroom villa perched at the highest point of the Gal Oya Lodge site. Peaceful, remote and with breath-taking views, it is the perfect spot for those in search of a luxury escape.
